The makers of the 2007 hit, Welcome, have decided to feature the world's heaviest ring, weighing 64kg in the film's much anticipated sequel that stars actors Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and Paresh Rawal from the original. Recently, when Anil shot with the mammoth ring, the entire unit apparently was in splits and started calling him, 'lord of the rings'.
"This gold ring was created by a big jewellery house in Saudi Arabia and it holds a position in the Guinness Book of World Records. In one of the sequences of the film, Anil will be seen gifting this ring to his lady love," says a source close to the production house. "It was a comedy scene where Anil ji tries to impress a girl by giving her a ring. Looking at the size of the ring, everybody on the sets started calling him, 'Lord of the Rings'," says film's director Anees Bazmee.
Talking about the ring, the source further adds that it's mounted on 5.15kg precious stones from the Middle East and set on 58.68kg of 21 carat gold. "For the shoot, the ring was displayed on a trolley for the first time at the jewellery showroom in Dubai's gold market, where it is originally kept," says the source.
